Electric Birth

laddersgone Flagrantly weird, technically impossible death-psych boogie-woogie from an alternate timeline.

I wonder at bygone forks in the cultural road that might have led to a 21st century dominated by an audience to whom novelty, ridiculousness, and danger mean more than comfort and the illusion of self-actualization. This album belongs to that other now that was not to be. Favorite track: Machine Red.

It's in my eye. It's in my eye. I can feel it in my eye. I can hear it in my eye. I can hear it in my eye. What's a soul feel like? What's a soul feel like? It's in my eye.

about

A note about the production from Tam:

You might call this album "experimental metal," an exercise in stretching simple ideas right up to or sometimes past their breaking point.

We recorded and produced it independently in a slow, iterative process that started as far back as 2007 and only really got going in 2020 with a whirlwind of finalizing arrangements and recording. At that time I picked up the role of producer, mixer, and (blasphemously) planned on mastering my own mixes. The drums were recorded live with some minor exceptions (see the individual track information pages). The guitars and bass are a mix of direct recordings and recordings of live amplification. Although some songs and additions were championed individually, the album, its concepts, and the motivation were group-work.

We hope you enjoy this esoteric album for the oddity it is.
